This site is a medium for the exploration of ideas and the development of research as it pertains to image, perception and meaning within the Zapatista Revolution (EZLN).

I will attempt to construct a model of the Zapatista’s system of communication in order to better understand its strengths and weaknesses. A closer examination of the model will focus on issues such as the message and its intended meaning, the audience and interpretation, and possible reactions or reprisal.

The objective of this research is to realise a communication approach that will better enable the disenfranchised, or otherwise oppressed minorities, to publicize their cause for justice in a way that the fundamental issues are clearly understood.
