On this road to a solution, the problems may be revealed but the way forward is still uncertain. Mapping the situation will help to elucidate the best route to our destination. Even with a good map, unfamiliar roads can be confusing—sometimes paths are retraced or detours taken—but by responding to the environment and situation of the moment, a way can be found. It is for this reason that an organic, adaptive and iterative approach, consistent with design thinking and practice, is essential to both the development of the model and its implementation.
